What Happens When Artcarme Sells Your Artwork?

When one of your artworks is sold through Artcarme, the following procedure will be followed to ensure a smooth transaction:

1. Notification of Sale

Once a customer purchases your artwork, you will receive an email notification confirming the sale.

2. Review the Order

  • Head to your Dashboard and click on ‘View All My Sales’.
  • The new sale will appear with the status “Waiting for Acceptance”.
  • Click on the order number to view the details of the sale, including which artwork was purchased. Important: Do not click the ‘Accept’ button just yet!

3. Verify Artwork Availability and Condition

  • Locate the artwork in your inventory to verify that it is still available and in good condition.
  • If the artwork is unavailable or damaged, click ‘Decline’ and provide a reason for declining the order in the form that appears on your screen. The customer will be notified via email, and a member of the Artcarme team may follow up with you.

4. Accept the Order

  • If everything is in order and the artwork is ready for sale, click ‘Accept’.
  • Once accepted, the customer’s payment will be processed, and you will receive their delivery details.

5. Update Inventory

  • Important: After accepting the order, immediately go to the listing and set the Qty Available field to ‘0’ to prevent further sales of the artwork.

6. Packaging the Artwork

  • Securely pack the artwork for shipping. Remember to include a completed Certificate of Authenticity with the order to verify its authenticity.

7. Send Courier Tracking Details

  • If you have the courier tracking information, provide it to the customer by using the ‘Send a message about this order’ form located at the bottom of the order page.

8. Confirm Shipment

  • Once you have handed over the parcel to the courier or delivery service, return to the order page and click ‘Service Has Been Provided’ to confirm shipment.

How Much and When Will You Be Paid on Artcarme?

At Artcarme, we take a commission on the price you set for each artwork. For more details, please refer to our Terms and Conditions for Artists.

Payment Timeline

You will receive payment approximately 28 days after a successful sale of your artwork. This timeframe allows for the completion of the transaction and delivery process.

International Artists

We welcome artists from outside the UK to sell their art through Artcarme. However, please note that our policy requires that delivery costs be included in the sale price. Be sure to consider this when setting your artwork prices. You can view the full list of eligible countries for artists.
