How It Works

At Art Carma, we market and sell your art through our platform, bringing potential buyers to you. We display, advertise, and process payments, making it easy for customers to discover your work.

We take a commission of 35% from the selling price you set. This is much lower than traditional gallery commissions and helps cover our marketing and operational costs.

Our marketing efforts include substantial investment in search engine optimization (SEO) and paid advertising, ensuring your artwork is seen by a wide audience.

Your Key Responsibilities

As an artist on Art Carma, we ask that you operate your gallery professionally:

Packaging and Shipping: When an order is placed, carefully package your artwork and ship it promptly.
Vacation Mode: If you’re going away, make sure to update your profile and remove your listings from the site.
Independent Sales: If you sell artwork elsewhere, remember to remove it from your gallery listing immediately.

Setting Your Price

You decide how much to sell your art for. We charge a 35% commission on each sale, which covers our costs for marketing, customer service, and processing payments.

You are responsible for the costs of materials, packaging, and delivery to any destination in the UK. Be sure to include these costs in your pricing.

14-Day Money Back Guarantee

To build trust with customers, we offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all sales. If a customer is not fully satisfied, they can return the artwork within 14 days. They will cover the return shipping costs. You are responsible for the initial shipping costs but are not eligible to reclaim them. The current return rate is approximately 1 in 250 sales.

Payment Process

Once a customer places an order and the payment is processed, we’ll notify you by email and/or phone. You then need to package and ship the artwork within 5 working days. Once the customer confirms they’ve received the artwork, we’ll process your payment, which will be transferred to your bank account approximately 28 days later.

How to Start Selling Art

Getting started is simple! Here’s an overview of the process:

Sign Up: Create an account on Art Carma, complete your artist profile, and set up your shop. Provide your banking information for payments.
Create Your Listings: Upload images of your artwork, write titles and descriptions, set prices, and add categories and keywords. Our curators will review your listings and ensure they’re polished before going live.
Make Sales: Once your artwork sells, mark it as “sold,” pack it up, and ship it to the customer. You can communicate with the buyer to confirm details and provide tracking information.
